Australian dollar fell in Asian trade to October 11 lows versus its US counterpart following a speech by RBA Assistant Governor Guy Debelle at the Walkley Business Journalism Awards event, in Sydney, and amid a lack of US data today.

As of 04:48 GMT, AUD/USD fell 0.13% to 0.7110, with a two-week trough at 0.7088, and a session-high at 0.7127.

Guy Debelle noted in his speech today how the Reserve Bank of Australia is quite flexible in its definition of full employment, opening the door for faster changes for interest rates and monetary policy.
